Ms. Jess

Mequon Toddler Twos Lead

Hi there, I’m Ms. Jess, the lead teacher for the Toddler Twos (19–27 months) at Ozaukee Child Care and Preschool. I love guiding young children as they learn, grow, and explore the world around them. In our classroom, we focus on building responsibility, communication, social skills, motor development, and learning through play.

My favorite activities include art, story time, and songs. I enjoy creating fun art projects, reading picture books like How Does a Dinosaur, Elephant & Piggie, and Biscuit, and singing favorites like “Baby Shark” and “5 Little Ducks.”

The moments I cherish most are the little ones— a comforting hug, a giggle during a silly dance, or the excitement after a story. These small moments make every day special!

Educational Experience

I was born and raised in Grafton and graduated from GHS in 2008 before earning my Bachelor’s in Art Education from UW–Milwaukee in 2013. Rather than jumping straight into a traditional classroom, I began my teaching journey in childcare at OCC as a floater teacher, where I quickly discovered my passion for working with infants and toddlers.

Growing up as the youngest of 19 cousins, caring for children came naturally to me. Over time, my interest shifted fully to early childhood, leading me to complete extensive trainings in infant and toddler care, development, safety, and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. I later became the lead Young Twos teacher and, in 2024, earned the Infant Toddler Credential through Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

Now leading the Toddler Twos classroom, I continue to grow professionally through ongoing training and research. I am passionate about supporting young children and their families and believe that learning is a lifelong journey filled with endless discovery
