Our One-Year-Old Room is a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment designed to support toddlers as they experience rapid growth in mobility, exploration, communication, and independence.

The classroom is thoughtfully organized into accessible interest areas with age-appropriate materials that encourage children to explore at their own pace while also developing early social skills through cooperative play.

Our teachers intentionally plan experiences that support the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) across all five developmental domains:

Health & Physical Development
Social & Emotional Development
Language Development & Communication
Approaches to Learning
Cognition & General Knowledge

One Year Old Room Features

Through movement, sensory experiences, books, music, hands-on exploration, and meaningful interactions with teachers and peers, one-year-olds are encouraged to discover, communicate, problem-solve, and build confidence.

At OCC, we recognize that toddlers learn through active exploration.

Our teachers provide the support, encouragement, and safe environment they need to take those important first steps toward independence.
